The Island of Gozo

There is more to offer than just diving on Gozo for divers than in many other European countries. The island of Gozo is a short ferry ride from Malta.  It has a much calmer atmosphere than the mainland but also plenty of tourist sites, swimming and sunbathing areas, water sports and off road activities, restaurants, bars and colourful town festivals from May to October, making this a great holiday and scuba diving destination.

It is possible to dive the island all year round, barring the inevitable, occasional, inclement weather. From late spring to early autumn the seas are often crystal clear. Snorkelling and diving, we see an abundance of flora and fauna as well as interesting caves and swim throughs.  The open sea offers a chance to dive at depth to visit various underwater attractions.  For example the three wrecks just off-shore at Xatt L'Ahmar with a reef to "off gas" on that is full of octopus, star fish, cuttlefish, moray eels, hermit crabs and much more including smaller treasures such as the occasional seahorse.  There are also pinnacles and walls to explore for crabs, shrimp, nudibranchs and moray eels, whilst watching out for large shoals of barracuda, jack fish, garfish, fried egg jellyfish and more.

Dive Gozo wants to offer fellow underwater photographers a chance to visit some of these sites with them, because as photographers ourselves we understand what is needed.  This includes longer time in the water than normal dive guiding, allowing for the time to stop and take shots. Also, we can offer advice on what equipment you may need to get the best shots on each dive.  We are very familiar with all the sites so we can give a full briefing of the shots we hope to find for you to capture.
